Voting System now on Cydia

The voting system is up for every package on Cydia.

You can now vote up for the great, amazing, unique and fully functional packages and vote down for the bad, boring and non-functional packages.

This is a great way to share with other users if the package is worth downloading or not!

All you have to do is log into myRepoSpace thru Cydia (it will save your login session forever, unless you logout), then either tap the Thumbs up, or Thumbs down button - and you're done!

Easy right? Well its available on all packages now on Cydia.

New Server is Active

The new server is finally online.

A lot of users already have commented on how snappy the server is. How is the website feeling for you now?

There will be some users who may sometime see the old maintenance screen, which means that the DNS has reverted you to the old server.
This is normal, and it may take another 24 hours to fully propagate the correct server information.

Thanks to everyone who helped myRepoSpace get to where we are today!

myRepoSpace moving servers

MyRepoSpace is finally moving across to a brand new server!

The new server boasts a brand new Intel E3-1230 Processor, 8GB of Ram and a fully dedicated 100Mpbs port. Which, in the simple terms, means you should expect really, really fast speeds from myRepoSpace.com and less downtime/slow access times.

The process will commence in around 6 hours and is estimated to take around 24-48 hours.

Cydia Sources will continue to operate until the new Server becomes active (The Sources may go down for approximately an hour during the final stages of the transfer)

All the update progress will unfold as it happens over Twitter - @myRepoSpace

Update 1:
The transfer is well under way, but may slow down the current website experience. Another post will be made when the website is fully moved.

Uploader Page Update

The upload page has been updated to provide more accurate upload percentages, super fast upload and now supports Mutli-Deb Upload & Drag and Drop.

These amazing new features are 100% HTML5, so they DO NOT require flash but do require a modern HTML5 Browser; Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Mobile Safari upload support (via Safari Upload Enabler) testing will be done soon and reported here.

Update: IE can now upload Packages and queue packages, however IE does not support multi-file selection or drag and drop support.

Update 2: Mobile Safari is not compatible with this uploader, desktop only.

Update Bug fixer

Do you see an constant update in your Cydia?

MyRepoSpace was plagued with this problem for quite a while now. It took me a few months to find the little bug, it was so small that I missed it time and time again.

Finally, the bug has been fixed, but if you are experiencing the problem you will need to take some action first.

If your source, or a myRepoSpace source that you use has the problem, please leave the username in a comment and I will fix it.

You might be asking, why doesn't myRepoSpace automatically fix all repositories?
Well, the problem is a little deeper then that, and it'll require an intense process that, if all users at the same time activated, would crash the server in a heartbeat.

Mobile Forums & App Developement

Make sure you check out the mobile Forums on your iDevice.
(Visit: www.myrepospace.com/forums/ & it will redirect you!)

Now you can view and reply to the latest threads on the forums without it taking a toll on your mobile data allowance!
The mobile forums are around 80% lighter than the full desktop website!

I'm also hard at work on the MyRepoSpace iOS Application, which has a build in Forum tab and works on iOS5.
That'll be coming out soon.

Forum thread subscribing

I usually browse the forums and find some pretty interesting topics that I just enjoy reading. That's when I realised that there was no way to track threads that you weren't contributing too.

So, I added this little button. Well, It's not really a button, it's more of a hover..thing.
It's really simple, but it'll help you subscribe to threads that you want to track (and unsubscribe to the threads you don't want to track). It even allows you to turn on instant emailing, which sends a notification to your inbox whenever there is a reply.

Also, the notifications system has been worked on too. It should work a little smoother now and work better with forum notifications.

In Cydia Report Button - Quick Fixes
