TetherMeDynamically enable native tethering. 3.0+ (Tested working on iOS4.X) NOTE
Dynamically enables native tethering for iOS3.X and iOS4.X+ devices. This should work on any carrier without the need for customized bundles or preferences.
NOTE: You MAY need to reboot your iDevice if upon installation or removal cellular service does not return.
TetherMe has been tested to work on all iOS versions from 3.0 to 4.0.1 and works by telling the iPhone to allow tethering on any APN that is used for iPhone data. As a result, you should not be charged extra from your phone company as all tethering data appears to come from the phone itself.
TetherMe also bypasses signature checking and allows you toedit your carrier bundle manually if you so desire. This is required toenable MMS functionality on T-Mobile. TetherMe does NOT enable the loading of APN configurations from .mobileconfig profiles at this time.
Change Log:
v 1.3-7
Add code to correct issues with Unknown.bundle
Disable APN editing if a mobileprofile is installed, it could cause Preferences.app to crash
Split APN editing feature to separate addon package
v 1.3-4
Correct issue with Unknown.bundle
Disable editing of Cellular Data Network if you have a mobileconfig profile installed. This was causing Settings.app to crash, and (unconfirmed) causing some settings from the mobileconfig to not be loaded properly
v 1.3-1
Now also enables Data Network APN editing via Preferences.app
Correct minor bug regarding what data was hooked
List conflict with rpetrich's SBSettings Tether Toggle as it causes springboard to crash when TetherMe is loaded
This my first post so bare with me if I left out any information. I installed on my iPhone 4 iOS 4.0.1 without any problems.
